Research Clinic for Vision

Essener Elterninitiative zur Unterstützung krebskranker Kinder e.V.

For around 40 years, the Essen Parents' Initiative has been supporting affected families of children with cancer during and after treatment. In addition to providing accommodation, the psychosocial team accompanies the families through the highs and lows of this difficult time. Contact with other affected families as well as leisure and creative activities are a welcome distraction from everyday hospital life and provide strength for stressful days.

Netzwerk ActiveOncoKids

The goal of ActieOncoKids is to provide exercise programs and adequate sports support for children and young people with and after cancer. For this, individual exercise opportunities are sought with those affected and clinics and centers are supported in the development and expansion of exercise and sports activities.

Essener Chancen e.V.

The Essener Chancen association aims to appeal to children and young people from all social classes and cultures, to involve and activate them to seize their opportunities for school, training and work. Managing Director Tani Captain on the cooperation with the Children's Cancer Network: “This topic is very close to my heart. A diagnosis like this can upset entire families, which is why variety and distraction are important.”

Ronald McDonald Haus Essen

The Ronald McDonald House in Essen is a temporary home for families with seriously ill children who are being treated at Essen University Hospital. The relaxed environment allows parents to concentrate fully on the care of their seriously ill children. During this time, they find support in the house through the exchange with other families who are in the same situation.

Haare auf Reisen

Hair on a journey is a loving way to explain hair loss from chemotherapy to young children. We use the idea that the hair is going on an adventurous (world) journey and will come back soon. Supporters & friends send encouraging postcards from the “holiday destinations”. And you can help too!
